4 Blocks
4 Blocks might be the best gangster show you’ve never heard about on HBO Max. Based in Germany, the celebrated crime drama consists of three gripping seasons and 19 episodes, making it the perfect length for a week-long binge.
The 2017 series follows a Lebanese crime family operating out of Berlin. Facing threats from authorities and rival gangs, the Hamady family must work diligently to stay alive and on top.
4 Blocks is a true hidden gem on HBO Max that is absolutely worth binge-watching this week, especially if you’re looking for something intense and fully captivating. English dubbed audio is available, but it’s recommended to watch with subtitles.
Eastbound & Down
Before there was Vice Principals and The Righteous Gemstones, Danny McBride’s claim to fame comedy series on HBO was Eastbound & Down. Over 15 years after its premiere, it remains one of the funniest HBO comedies of all time.
McBride stars as Kenny Powers, a former Major League Baseball pitcher who burns out and goes back to his hometown to become a gym teacher at his former middle school. McBride also co-created the series, which made him a modern legend in TV comedy.
Eastbound & Down, which earned a 91% Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score, consists of 29 episodes across four seasons. If you’re looking for an HBO show to make you laugh out loud all week, this is one of your safest bets.
Game Of Thrones
With winter slowly approaching, November is always a great time to rewatch Game of Thrones from the beginning. Even though the acclaimed historical fantasy series infamously botched its final season, it’s still one of the best TV shows of all time.
Few series became as massive a cultural obsession as Game of Thrones was during the 2010s. With a remarkably talented ensemble cast, featuring Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Lena Leadey, Peter Dinklage, and more, the series held the world’s attention.

Spy/Master
The 2023 miniseries Spy/Master is one of the few HBO Max shows with a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. If you’re looking for a gripping spy action drama that you can binge in just a few sittings, this is an excellent choice.
The series follows the fictional protagonist Victor Godeanu, played by Alec Secareanu, the right-hand man to a Romanian dictator who is secretly a KGB agent.
Decider called it, “a well-written Cold War espionage potboiler that promises to build tension as the danger to its main character increases.” If you enjoy Cold War espionage thrillers like The Americans, then Spy/Master is an absolute must-watch on HBO Max this week.
