Chainsaw Man’s Reze Arc Movie Teases Season 2 With the Perfect Post-Credit Scene

This article contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc.

The long-awaited Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc has finally arrived in North American theaters, following up what proved to be one of 2022’s most popular new anime series. Audience feedback and early reviews are touting the film as one of anime’s very best, and fans are taking to social media to further spread the hype.

Spoilers are around every corner, and those planning to attend screenings this weekend will have to be cautious in trying to avoid them. However, for those curious, Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc does feature a post-credits scene, and it’s the perfect conclusion for what might be 2025’s most devastating anime.

The Reze Arc’s Post-Credits Scene Is a Perfect Finale

Chainsaw Man’s First Movie Ends on a Lighter Note

The Reze Arc movie is an action-packed feast for the eyes that’s unrelenting in its second-half fighting sequences. From bright and colorful explosions to violent swings of chainsaw arms, the movie’s action is packed with energy and style. However, the film is also one of the most emotionally devastating of the year.

After Reze confesses that, like Denji, she’s never attended school, the credits roll and fans will typically be left in a puddle in tears. Fortunately, a post-credit scene allows viewers to go home on a happier note, adapting the final pages of the arc from the original manga.

The movie resumes with Denji, holding a bouquet of flowers, sitting in the café waiting for a Reze who will never return. However, before the sad reality of the situation kicks in, Power storms in, assuming the flowers are for her and fighting with Denji over the gift.

While the scene may not reveal any major teasers for what comes next, it does give movie-goers a chance to breathe after the highly emotional climax of the film. For manga readers who know what’s ahead, the moment puts Denji and Power in the spotlight, setting up a season two which will eventually place heavy focus on their relationship.

Following what has already been an incredible success of a movie, fans should have no doubt that Chainsaw Man will return. The remaining chapters of Part One, including both the International Assassins and Control arcs, will likely fit perfectly within a 12 or 13 episode second season.

If MAPPA wishes to continue capitalizing on the film’s success and moves forward with movies, both arcs would also nicely fill out similar 90-minute productions. Either way, Reze Arc‘s post-credit scene sets up the devastation to come in Chainsaw Man, especially in the relationship between Denji and Power as the series nears its final act.
