With just a few weeks to go until HBO premieres the IT prequel series, IT: Welcome to Derry, the author who wrote the original book finally weighed in with his opinion on the show. After the hugely successful two-part IT films in 2017 and 2019, Warner Bros. greenlit a small-screen prequel called: IT: Welcome to Derry, which sees the return of Pennywise the Clown.
Welcome to Derry stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso, as well as the return of Bill Skarsgård, who starred as Pennywise in the films.
On Threads, Stephen King gave his reaction to the upcoming IT: Welcome to Derry series. He called it “amazing” and said the series premiere is “terrifying.”
