That was all it took for speculation to catch fire.

“It is a tricky IP, and a very complex IP. And that’s what I love about it. The challenges that come with putting this on the page in a way that is doing justice to that complexity, that trickiness, and that nuance, is a challenge I’m enjoying enormously.”
According to Cavill, he’s spent over a year with Games Workshop digging through decades of material in search of the right entry point. One rumor that refuses to die is that the series could be based on Dan Abnett’sEisenhorn saga, which follows a ruthless inquisitor navigating the Imperium’s most dangerous secrets. If true, it could explain why certain books in the series have been tied up in new rights negotiations.
