Hit Netflix Show Loses Multiple Stars Ahead of Season 2

Netflix‘s hit western romance drama Ransom Canyon has received a new major update, three months after it was renewed for a second season. It is based on the award-winning author Jodi Thomas’ novel series of the same name.

Who won’t be returning in Netflix’s Ransom Canyon Season 2?

According to Deadline, Eoin Macken (La Brea) and Andrew Liner (Grown-ish) will not be returning as series regulars in Ransom Canyon Season 2. In the first installment, Macken and Liner were introduced as father and son, Davis and Reid Collins. At the moment, it’s unclear if they would potentially appear as guest stars in the new season.

“Passions run deep in Ransom Canyon, where three ranching family dynasties reignite a generations-long feud over love, land, and legacy in their small, West-Texas town,” reads Season 2’s official logline.

Ramson Canyon is created and executive-produced by showrunner April Blair. The show is led by Josh Duhamel as Staten Kirkland, Minka Kelly as Quinn O’Grady, Lizzy Greene as Lauren Brigman, Garrett Wareing as Lucas Russell, Jack Schumacher as Yancy Grey, and Marianly Tejada as Ellie Estevez. Season 2 will also introduce new characters, portrayed by Ben Robson as Oliver and Heidi Engerman Sydney. Meanwhile, Casey W. Johnson has been promoted to a series regular.

The show is executive-produced by Duhamel and Dan Angel. Following its debut, Season 1 spent four weeks in the Global Top 10 TV (English) list and reached the Top 10 TV in 77 countries. It currently holds a Popcornmeter rating of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Production on Season 2 is currently underway in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
