Sophie Turner may have bested the worst men that Westeros could throw at her in Game of Thrones, but now she’ll be facing well-connected men of a different caliber in her upcoming film, Trust — the Hollywood elite. Today, in support of the title’s digital release, Collider is excited to share a whopping ten full minutes from the harrowing thriller that hails from filmmaker Carlson Young (The Blazing World). The feature centers around Lauren Lane (Turner), a famous actress who finds her close-held secrets shared for the world to see after it’s revealed that she’s been having an affair with the creator of her famed TV show, Peter (Billy Campbell). Refusing to back down from Peter’s demands, Lauren travels to a remote home to clear her head, but unfortunately for her, Peter and his cronies have other plans.
Our exclusive first look at Trust catches up with Turner’s Lauren after her world has already been flipped upside down by the serious invasion of privacy. Hiding far away from the noise, she’s trying to regulate her nervous system when she receives a phone call from a panicked and angry Peter, who pushes her to get an abortion. When Lauren not only shuts him down but also stands up for herself, Peter sees red and turns to his right-hand man, Kroft (Peter Mensah), to tie up this loose end. As Lauren sleeps peacefully with her dog by her side, she has no idea of the nightmare that’s about to ensue as two men approach the home with the intent of breaking in.
Joining Turner and her co-stars in the high-octane, pulse-pounding thriller is an ensemble that also includes Rhys Coiro (Entourage), Forrest Goodluck (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines), Gianni Paolo (Ma), Katey Sagal (Married… with Children) and Renata Vaca (City of Dreams). With Young behind the camera, Trust is a joint production between Paramount’s Republic Pictures and Twisted Pictures. Fans of the Saw franchise will recognize the latter as the long-time backer of the gritty and gruesome horror films, which sets Trust up to be on par with what we know and love from the company.
What Else Does Sophie Turner Have on the Way?
Beyond her work in Trust, Turner recently reunited with her Game of Thrones co-star, Kit Harington, for Natasha Kermani’s latest dip into horror, The Dreadful. Set during the War of the Roses, the film will center on a young woman (Turner) whose life is given a hefty shake up after someone from her past comes to her front door. As of right now, the project has yet to announce its arrival date.
