‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ Sequels Get Official Release Dates After Massive Box Office Domination

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle has announced the release date of its sequel, just a short time after the anime feature premiered in U.S. theaters. The movie, which features Channing Tatum’s anime debut, has generated large box office numbers during its opening weekend, and it won’t be long until fans get to see the final battle continue.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle covers the start of the Final Battle arc, where the Demon Slayer Corps fights against Muzan’s Demon Army. The film ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers to question what will happen to our heroes moving forward. Unfortunately, there will be a wait for the next installment, as Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 is scheduled to be released in 2027. Meanwhile, Part 3, which is said to be the epic conclusion for the whole Demon Slayer anime, is scheduled to enter the big screen in 2029. If you’ve just started watching Demon Slayer thanks to this film and haven’t yet caught up with the anime, now is the perfect time to do so.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has broken multiple box office records during its Japanese theatrical release, surpassing several blockbuster giants, and is now the second-highest-grossing film in Japan. Since its Western release, the film has received a 97% critics’ score and a 98% “verified fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is close to the scores its predecessor, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, received during its theatrical run. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is currently the 13th highest-grossing film worldwide in 2025, generating over $352 million, ranking between The Conjuring: Last Rites and Sinners.

What’s The Story of Demon Slayer So Far?

Demon Slayer is an anime series based on Koyoharu Gotouge‘s hit 2016 manga, which takes place in the Taisho Era of Japan, where demons constantly hunt humans, and it’s up to the Demon Slayer Corps to kill them, either by exposing them to sunlight or killing them with their swords made from a special metal. The anime follows Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae/Zach Aguilar), who becomes a demon slayer after returning home to see his entire family slaughtered, and his sister, Nezuko (Akari Kito/Abby Trott), turned into a demon. Fortunately for her, she was able to retain parts of her humanity, thus making Tanjiro’s mission to save his sister and avenge his family by killing the demon king, Muzan.

Throughout the anime and its feature films, Tanjiro and his friends continue to encounter other slayers and demons who ultimately become allies. Additionally, he and the other Demon Slayers cross paths with the Twelve Kizuki, 12 demons who possess stronger demon powers and are devoted to Muzan. As the anime progresses, Muzan’s backstory and the origins of the demons are gradually revealed. In Infinity Castle, the Demon Slayer Corps engages in their final battle against Muzan, in hopes of destroying and killing all the demons for good.
