As fans might recall, Black Clover’s season 2 anime announcement was first unveiled by Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine issue #32, but the official trailer was revealed at Anime Expo 2025. Soon after it was shown at the event, Crunchyroll uploaded the trailer to its official YouTube Channel.
None of the other promotional materials on the anime’s website or social media platforms mentioned a release date or window. The caption for the trailer on YouTube said that the anime will be released on Crunchyroll in 2026.

While fans were surprised by the release window mentioned and were happy that the anime was set to be released so soon, the caption was later edited to remove the “in 2026” part, leaving fans with no confirmed release window. Ever since, the anime has made no announcements or hints at a release window.
That said, fans can believe that the staff must have been planning a 2026 release, but may have asked Crunchyroll to change the caption in case the production is delayed further down the line. Therefore, fans can expect Black Clover season 2 to be released in either 2026 or 2027.
What Else Do We Know About The Anime’s Return?
For starters, Black Clover has been confirmed to have a Green Stage at Jump Festa 2026. Fans can expect some positive news about the anime in December 2025. Besides that, there have been several rumors confirming some key details about the anime.
While it has yet to be announced, it has been leaked that the anime’s second season will feature 25 episodes, split into two cours of 12 and 13 episodes. This fits well with the remaining manga content for the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, which is about 61 chapters, averaging around 2.5 chapters’ worth of content for an episode.
In addition, as fans may recall, manga creator Yuki Tabata had mentioned that he was working with a super-strong production team to bring a powered-up anime that fans from Japan and worldwide would enjoy.
