Marvel Rivals Season 4 Roadmap Explained: New Characters, Events, Skins, & More

Marvel Rivals Season 4 has an impressive roadmap for its content, from a variety of new skins for heroes, exciting events, and even the return of fan-favorite modes. Far more freedom within match options seem to be on their way, including a variety of cosmetics that will breathe new life into one of the year’s best hero shooters.

Season 4 launches on September 12, 2025, arriving alongside several buffs and nerfs in Marvel Rivals through a major balance patch. These substantial gameplay changes range from big adjustments to individual heroes and a shifting of Team-Up abilities between some character combinations. Some heroes will be added to existing Team-Ups, while a brand-new one will be added and another disappears forever.

Season 4 Introduces Angela & Daredevil As New Characters

The biggest part of Season 4’s roadmap is the introduction of two new characters — Angela and Daredevil. Angela releases as a new Vanguard when Season 4 drops, while Daredevil will be added halfway through the Season about a month afterward.

The winged Asgardian is the game’s first flying Vanguard, using aerial abilities to capture foes and be a guardian angel for her teammates. Angela can use melee weapons like axes and a spear crafted from golden ichor on her body she can transform.

According to details released by Marvel Rivals‘ development team, Season 4.5 will begin on October 10, 2025, indicating when Daredevil arrives. It is unknown at this point what role Daredevil will have, but based on his abilities seen in the Season 4 trailer, it is most likely he will join the likes of The Phoenix or Blade from Season 3 as an additional Duelist hero.

Like any new character, Angela will also gain unique cosmetics alongside her default appearance when she is added to Season 4. Angela gets a recolor of her default costume, but also gains the unique Skuld 2099 skin too. This look is a futuristic, cyberpunk aesthetic that gives Angela a violet tech wing and a sci-fi mask for a Legendary skin that you can purchase upon her release.

New Event Brings An Arcade Mode With Returning Match Types

Replay Previous Limited-Time Modes Without Any Restrictions

Another part of Season 4 releasing on September 12 is a new game mode category called “Arcade.”Through Arcade mode, players can access six different game types, with some being new while others are returning favorites from past Seasons. While many were once limited-time modes for specific events, they are now match types players can queue into freely.

The Arcade modes arriving with Season 4’s launch date are:

  • Free Fight
  • Conquest (Annihilation)
  • Clone Rumble
  • Giant-Sized Brain Blast
  • Conquest
  • Doom Match

Conquest modes were available before, as well as Doom Match, but Clone Rumble and Giant-Sized Brain Blast in Marvel Rivals are matches players haven’t been able to participate in for months. Clone Rumble sees no restrictions on the same hero for a team, while Giant-Sized Brain Blast is a fun game type that puts cartoonishly large heads on random heroes selected for a match.

Free Fight is also a newer mode, where players can participate in normal matches, but with no hero restrictions. Unlike Clone Rumble, which picks two characters at random for players to select, Free Fight allows teams to mix and match whatever duplicate combinations they want into their squads.

Additionally, Season 4 begins with a new event called Scroll of the Immortal Beasts, which will likely introduce new missions or challenges for players to complete. The main reward from this event is a new skin for Ultron, but it’s hardly the only cosmetic being offered throughout the Season.

Additional Maps & Skins Will Let Players Adopt The Season’s Theme

With another Season of Marvel Rivals comes more character skins and a new map, but both release at different intervals according to the planned roadmap. The new Battle Pass, called “Fruit of Immortality,” releases right away with Season 4, directly giving players pages of cosmetics to earn in exchange for Chrono Tokens.

Despite this large drop of Battle Pass skins, there are more planned cosmetics for periodic drops across Season 4. For example, the second round of summer-themed swimsuit skins is coming September 19, 2025, giving players more fun-in-the-sun looks for several heroes.

One Legendary skin for Emma Frost, named the “Hellfire Protocol” costume, doesn’t arrive until October 3, 2025. This is a week before the Season 4.5 drop, which could see more free skins through newly released events.

Another big drop of content is set to arrive on September 26, 2025, when a new map is introduced into the game. This arena is “K’un Lun – Heart of Heaven,” a Convergence map where players have to secure a location first before guiding something important to a secondary destination.

Like other maps of this game type, K’un Lun is sure to be a large battlefield with many different shortcuts and Easter Eggs for players to enjoy. On the same day that the K’un Lun map shows up, players can also purchase another Legendary skin for Hela, named “The Grim Lady.” This look adopts a Victorian appearance for the goddess of death, creating a distinct aesthetic unique from her other costumes.

At the same time, new Accessories arrive in the Shop at this time for several characters, giving players more customization options for their favorite heroes. With so much content to explore in the Season 4 roadmap for Marvel Rivals, players will have plenty to do until Daredevil drops in October 2025.
