Young & Restless: Late Actor Tristan Rogers to Make One Last Appearance as Colin

Curious why Tristan Rogers’ name has been making headlines in the soap world? News spread quickly after The Young and the Restless confirmed that the late actor would appear one final time as Colin Atkinson. But Rogers’ upcoming episode is less about storyline twists in Genoa City and more about honoring his decades-long career.

Here’s what to know about his farewell appearance, the tribute planned by the show, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Tristan Rogers’ final TV appearance will be as Colin on The Young and the Restless

Tristan Rogers makes his final television appearance as Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless on Tuesday, August 26.

CBS announced the tribute on August 25, a week after Rogers died of cancer at 79. His manager, Meryl Soodak, confirmed his death after his July diagnosis.

In a video tribute, Jess Walton, who stars as Jill and shared many scenes with Rogers, said, “He was a beloved member of The Young and the Restless family. And I had the pleasure of being his scene partner for many years. I adored working with him.” She added, “We will miss you, Tristan, and your remarkable performance as Colin Atkinson.”

The show’s official post stated, “As we revisit one of their most memorable scenes — an emotional moment between Jill and Colin from 2014— we are reminded of the lasting impact Tristan brought to our show, both on and off screen. He will forever be missed.”

Rogers joined The Young and the Restless in 2010 as Colin, playing the role until 2012. He returned from 2014 to 2017 and reprised it in 2019. Colin’s storyline was tied closely to his son Cane Ashby, first portrayed by Daniel Goddard until his 2019 exit. When Billy Flynn took over as Cane in June 2025, the show revealed Colin had died six months earlier.

General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini also said, “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years, and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio).” (via People)
