Peacemaker Season 2 Cast’s Intro Dance Spotlighted in New BTS Video

Peacemaker is back in the spotlight as a brand-new opening dance sequence has been confirmed for Season 2. The reveal has sparked buzz among fans, with many eager to see how the new moves, fresh cast additions, and Eagly’s dance debut will compare to the viral Season 1 routine.

New and improved Peacemaker Season 2 dance number teased

The HBO Max/DC series premiered its first season in 2022 with a viral credits sequence set to Wig Wam’s “Do Ya Wanna Taste It,” and now the follow-up swaps in Foxy Shazam’s “Oh Lord” as the soundtrack.

A behind-the-scenes teaser confirmed that more cast members will appear in the routine, expanding on the original concept that gained over four billion views on TikTok.

James Gunn revealed that even Eagly, Peacemaker’s bald eagle companion, attempts to dance for the first time in this new sequence. “He is not the best at it, but he tries to really join in the dance sequence at the end. He’s got a little pose this time,” Gunn earlier told Entertainment Weekly.

Gunn also noted that new characters, including Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury, Sol Rodriguez as Sasha Bordeaux, and returning cast such as Michael Rooker and Judomaster, prompted him to create a fresh routine.

The show’s official X account shared the BTS clip on August 21, 2025, with the caption, “New season, new moves.” Collider also released behind-the-scenes coverage. Gunn explained how Season 2 overlaps with his Superman project while incorporating multiverse storylines and additional creature designs.

According to HBO Max, the new season follows Christopher “Chris” Smith, aka Peacemaker. He struggles to reconcile his past with his new sense of purpose. The plot introduces an alternate world where Peacemaker finds the life he always wanted. This discovery forces him to confront his traumatic history.

John Cena reprises the title role in Season 2. Gunn emphasized that the dance sequence may not capture the same surprise factor as Season 1. However, he promised the new season will deliver “many more twists and turns.”
