Beloved HBO Max Show Ending With Season 3

A beloved HBO Max series has officially announced it would be ending this week, following the conclusion of its third season.

What HBO Max show is ending?

And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City spin-off, will be ending, according to series showrunner, writer, and director Michael Patrick King. The series, which just had its Season 3 finale on July 31, 2025, won’t be back, with King revealing in a post on Instagram that he believes the third season is “a wonderful place to stop” it at.

“While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” wrote King in his post. “Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale.”

King went on to say that he held back the information because he didn’t want the show ending to overshadow the fun of its third season, but did thank fans for watching the series throughout its three season run.

The Sex and the City spin-off was led by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, as they reprise their respective roles as Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte. Joining them are Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, Alexa Swinton, and more.

Mechad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, and Logan Marshall-Green also appeared in the series in recurring roles. Sebastiano Pigazzi and Dolly Wells also returned to the series for its third season.

And Just Like That was written, directed, and executive produced by Michael Patrick King. It was also executive produced by Parker, Davis, Nixon, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, and John Melfi.

“The new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series follows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” read the logline for the series.
