Funko has just announced a new limited-edition Pop! Chaos (Translucent) figure in its Sonic the Hedgehogseries. With only 1,200 units made, this exclusive collectible drops on August 22, 2025, and is expected to sell out fast. The exclusive figure comes pre-packaged in a UV Premium Plastic POP! Protector and retails for $39.99. The collectible features the main antagonist of the Sonic universe in a translucent blue finish, complete with his signature yellow eyes.

The Pop! Chaos (Translucent) figure stands at approximately 4.4 inches and is categorized as a “Legendary” collectible under Funko’s Limited-Edition banner. The Chaos figure comes with Funko’s new authentication packaging, which uses micro-optic technology powered by Octane5. This ensures that each figure in the collection is verified and cannot be duplicated.

Sega has also taken to X to share anew development update for the upcoming online party battle royale game in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. The entertainment company confirmed that the highly anticipated game is still in development with no official release date yet. Per the statement, Sega shared that the team is still working on fine-tuning things to ensure the best possible experience for the players. Sega also revealed that fans can expect new character reveals, challenging stages, exciting features, and crossover events once the game drops.

The developers emphasized that the goal is to deliver a polished yet still chaotic multiplayer experience that is engaging for new players and long-time fans of the franchise. The studio concluded the statement by revealing that the team has been making incredible progress toward the game’s global launch, which is expected later in 2025. “We can’t wait to show you everything we’ve been building,” read the update as Sega expressed its gratitude to the fans for their consistent support. Sonic Rumble is currently in development for mobile platforms and PC via Steam.

The news comes at a time when the Sonic franchise is experiencing a major resurgence in pop culture, thanks to its successful live-action film adaptations. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024), for instance,has raked in over $492 million at the global box office.
