While playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you will eventually come across random events, including encounters with KKK members. However, finding these encounters isn’t as straightforward as other random events. Since these encounters aren’t as common, you will need to know their exact locations if you want to take them all down.
It is worth pointing out that killing KKK members positively affects Arthur Morgan’s honor points in Red Dead Redemption 2, so you shouldn’t hesitate to deliver justice. KKK members can only be encountered three times; therefore, knowing their exact locations saves time. Also, don’t hesitate to use powerful weapons or explosives to take the members out, as clashes with them can be challenging.
KKK Clan Encounter #1 Location
Nighttime Location North Of Rhodes
Mark this area just North of Rhodes on your map, and you can begin exploring while it’s dark out. Nighttime is the only window you will be able to locate members of the KKK in the area, and it’ll happen relatively quickly. This encounter begins as Arthur finds them burning a cross to initiate a new member.
Some of these KKK encounters will only happen at night when clan members are busy with their ceremonies. If you decide to attack any KKK members and one gets away alive, that will raise the Wanted level in the region.
These KKK members will be unhappy about government policies that are restricting their membership numbers before Arthur intervenes. When I encountered this KKK group, I only listened to their dialogue for a brief moment before taking the hate group out. However, should you listen for a few moments, you can watch a hilarious turn of events that highlights the stupidity of a group driven by prejudice.
If Arthur decides not to interfere and simply watch, you will see that several members of the KKK catch on fire when the cross burning goes badly wrong. This will thin the herd a little, making it much easier to take out the remaining members. That being said, if you want to keep your bounty lower, you can let one or two KKK people leave the scene alive.
KKK Clan Encounter #2 Location
Morning Time Location Near Flatneck Station
After completing the first encounter with the hooded group, you should head over to the area between the Dakota River and Flatneck Station. Make sure that it’s either morning or noon, and members should begin showing up. Out of all the KKK locations, this is the only one that doesn’t take place under the cover of night, so be aware of when you need to arrive.
Once again, the Klan members here are trying to start a burning cross gathering, with this group just as dumb as the previous. This time, members will be crushed to death by the cross they’re trying to burn, again making it very easy for Arthur to clean up.
Even if you don’t attack this group, a sarcastic remark by Arthur after the KKK’s mishap will cause the remaining members to attack you anyway. This is one of the few groups where you can’t leave anyone alive, as they all become hostile eventually.
KKK Clan Encounter #3 Location
Nighttime Location Near Wallace Station
The final encounter with the KKK occurs southeast of Wallace Station, which you can see on an explored RDR2 map like the one seen above. Like the first encounter with the KKK, this gathering can only kick off during the nighttime. The members appear to be a little unhappy with the lack of attendance, but Arthur Morgan may have had a thing or two to do with that.
There are only four KKK members at the final gathering location, with half of them fleeing if you allow another cross burning to misfire. Therefore, you have to act fast to eliminate them to raise Arthur’s honor before anyone escapes.
When the meeting starts, the KKK will have a final blunder that results in two members setting themselves on fire. You can quickly wipe out the remaining two as they flee from the scene, getting rid of the last of the hate-filled group for the time being.
Rewards & Loot From After The Encounters
Looting The Bodies For Lore
There are two documents that Arthur can loot from the bodies after all these encounters. The first is called “Meeting Notes,” a sort of internal monologue of the Klan’s activities, and the second is “Letter To Pa,” a more personal note about a man leaving home.
Following the clues from these collectibles will lead you to two NPC characters – Saint-Denis and the Eugenics Supporter. These two KKK organizers are easily defeated, even without being given a warrant or losing honor points. Those who take out these two won’t face any consequences either, even with a lawman right next door.
Given thatRockstar Games is infamous for the amount of controversy it createswith almost every new title, it’s not shocking to see a group like the Ku Klux Klan appear in RDR2. There are actually unique lines of dialogue that Arthur Morgan will rattle off if and when he murders a KKK member, and it builds on the idea that Arthur Morgan is a decent person at heart.
Arthur has some particular things to say to the Eugenics Supporter, who I recommend you send to the earliest grave possible. While violence does not always lead to good honor in Red Dead Redemption 2, this exception is one I’m happy Rockstar included, although I would have taken out the KKK at all their locations without any incentive.
