A series of new images have been revealed from Tulsa King season 3 ahead of its return in September, including a new glimpse at Samuel L. Jackson’s franchise-expanding character. The Paramount+ crime drama was created by Taylor Sheridan and focuses on Sylvester Stallone’s Oklahoma crime boss Dwight “the General” Manfredi. Tulsa King season 2 concluded in November 2024.

Season 3 Will Mark The Largest Expansion Of Tulsa King’s World
With this current selection of preview images, it is clear that the stakes have never been higher for Dwight heading into Tulsa King season 3. Alongside the return of Neal McDonough’s Cal Thresher, Pattrick will play new villain and rival crime boss Jeremiah Dunmire. Meanwhile, Kevin Pollak’s Special Agent Musso will represent the FBI’s interests.
However, in the face of his foes gathering to take him down, it appears that Jackson’s Russell Lee Washington Jr. could become one of Dwight’s closest allies. While much of his character is wrapped in mystery, Jackson will be leading the upcoming NOLA King spin-off, which will take the series to New Orleans.

Sylvester Stallone is getting a chance to work with a new A-list superstar, and it’s honestly surprising they haven’t collaborated before.
As such, the best way to launch Washington Jr.’s story would be to see him come to the aid of the main series’ lead. Jackson is confirmed to appear in multiple episodes of the third season across a major arc. Furthermore, Tulsa King season 3 could also set up the supporting and opposing players of NOLA King alongside Washington Jr.

Alongside the weight of launching a spin-off on its shoulders, there are high expectations for Tulsa King season 3. Despite the season ending with Thresher stepping down from challenging Dwight’s operations, he was also faced with a mysterious new party hoping to challenge his reign, all as the FBI takes an interest in his dealings.
As such, Tulsa King season 3 will mark the start of a new era. Not only are new antagonists rising to shake up the balance of power in the Oklahoma underworld, but should the NOLA King set-up prove successful, Sheridan may hope to expand the world in a similar vein to his Yellowstone franchise to build a more intriguing universe.
