General Hospital has created quite an intriguing setup with Rocco Falconeri finding out about his birth and subsequently meeting Dr. Liesl Obrecht. The young actor is suddenly in the limelight and is in the midst of a lot of difficult choices and developments. In a recent interview, Finn Carr opened up about this.
Finn Carr believes Lulu is being protective of Rocco in General Hospital
Since the time Rocco found out about Britt, he has been trying to learn more about her. This quest eventually led him to Kathleen Gati’s Liesl Obrecht, the mother of the supposedly deceased Britt. Carr discussed working with the veteran actors he is sharing scenes with now, followed by his character’s thoughts and emotions about Britt.
While talking about Britt with Soap Opera Digest, Carr said, “This lady gave birth to him, and so he feels some kind of connection with her.” He proceeded to discuss Rocco’s arc with Liesl and how it upset his mother, Lulu, and Dante, in the same interview.
Finn Carr said, “Rocco’s mom is quick to protect him, so there were definitely some strong emotions going on in those scenes. Rocco doesn’t see it as a big deal. He sort of just sees it as getting to know a little bit more about Britt, and, making a new friend, I guess — someone who he can talk to a little bit.”
Adding on Lulu’s protectiveness towards Rocco, he added, “You definitely got to see Alexa [Havins, Lulu] being quite a mama bear and protecting Rocco, even though Rocco doesn’t really see himself as needing any protecting.”
He further dissected why Lulu may be wary of Rocco finding out more about Britt. Carr explained, “He does sort of feel like they’re trying to stop him from finding out the truth, or finding out more information. I think it’s definitely just that Lulu doesn’t want Rocco to feel like he has another mom, that she’s not any less of a mom to him, and stuff like that. She’s always coming from a place of care and love, but Rocco definitely sees it a bit more as her impeding on his right to have some more information. So there is definitely some tension there, but their relationship is still nice and strong. It’s just having a few speed bumps.”
This Rocco saga will seemingly go on for some time in General Hospital.
