Get ready to go on tour with The Vampire Lestat as Interview With the Vampire transforms into just that for Season 3. Production on the third season of the series, based on the works of Anne Rice, began last month, and already teased we’ll be seeing rockstar Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). The AMC series dropped a behind-the-scenes feature at San Diego Comic Con, featuring Reid saying that Season 3 will find Lestat living it up on tour in the most “hedonistic authentic way.” The behind-the-scenes sneak peek showcased rehearsals and Reid on stage, as well as merchandise tables featuring tour shirts. The logline for the book of the same name that the series will be adapting is as follows:
“The vampire hero of Anne Rice’s enthralling novel is a creature of the darkest and richest imagination. Once an aristocrat in the heady days of pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the demonic, shimmering 1980s, he rushes through the centuries in search of others like him, seeking answers to the mystery of his eternal, terrifying existence. His is a mesmerizing story—passionate, complex, and thrilling.”
Who Can We Expect to See in ‘The Vampire Lestat’?
Fans can expect the return of both Delainey Hayles as Claudia and Assad Zaman as Armand. Also coming to the third season are Jennifer Ehle (Lioness), who will play Gabriella, Ella Ballentine (Black Conflux) in the role of Baby Jenks, Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as Christine Claire, Lestat’s lawyer, Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) as Marius, and Damien Atkins (Slings & Arrows) as Magnus, Lestat’s maker.
The casting news and sneak peek were announced during the same panel where fans got the chance to see the first trailer for Talamasca: The Secret Order, the latest expansion in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. It will follow Nicholas Denton as Guy, a new recruit for a secret society called the Talamasca, which is always watching and observing the world of the supernatural, including vampires. But they may be more dangerous, and there may be bigger things at play than Guy realizes. The trailer for Talamasca also came with the announcement that Interview With the Vampire‘s Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) will be making an appearance in the series as the journalist-turned-vampire will somehow find himself entangled with the mysterious organization.
