In the final episode of Love Island USA Season 7, Huda Mustafa and Chris Seely shockingly ended their relationship during their last formal date together on the show, making them the only islanders to not appear in the finale as a couple. From the audience’s point of view, it seemed like Chris was slowly losing interest in Huda, especially after she refused to kiss him in front of others and did not share the same opinions on public signs of affection. That said, in a recent interview Huda suggests that viewers were unaware of the real reasons why her relationship with Chris didn’t survive until the very end of the competition.
Huda Claims Producers Didn’t Show Her True Relationship With Chris
Although PDA was a frequent point of tension, Huda says Love Island USA left out many of the other reasons she chose to stay friends with Chris. “There were a lot of things that weren’t shown that ultimately made me come to my decision,” she told Swoon. “Those were so important to show because I think it was kind of an out-of-the-blue thing for a lot of people, and like, in actuality it wasn’t out of the blue.” One of the major topics that Huda feels wasn’t shown on-screen was Chris’ perspective about women, claiming he spoke in ways that she “didn’t want to hear,” and preferred that if he wanted to talk in that manner, that he did so with the male islanders instead. Most importantly, the 24-year-old mom felt that Chris often gravitated towards other women and had a “wandering eye,” leaving her to feel ignored. Above all, Huda explained that Chris couldn’t meet the “Bare f***ing minimum,” and didn’t feel like she should settle for him during the final days of the game.

Huda Blames Chris For Playing The Victim
Although she felt that the relationship was coming to an end heading into their last date together, Huda continued to explain that Chris tried to play the victim card during dinner, stating that he wanted her to make the final decision on their future together. Additionally, Huda claims that she felt pressured into choosing to breakup with Chris and felt wronged having been put in that position on day 26. “People don’t realize the way certain people act in situations to make themselves look better,” she stated. “I wanted it to be a collective decision. But it was kind of all on me in that moment, and it was honestly unfair because I felt like all the pressure.”
Despite Huda’s opinion on the breakup, Chris told E! News that he didn’t want her to be the one to end the relationship, but wanted to give her the option and explained that he was open to testing the connection outside the Villa. Ultimately, Chris believes Huda chose friendship because she was anxious about managing a long-distance relationship after the competition. Chris also said that he had no intentions of the relationship ending that day at dinner and stated that it took Huda 15 minutes to decide whether they should stay a couple.
The drama hasn’t ended for Huda since leaving the Villa, as she was recently unfollowed by some of her fellow islanders on social media, has continued to deal with the mixed reaction from her appearance on the Call Her Daddypodcast, and is wrapped up in feud rumors with season 6 finalist Leah Kateb. That said, Huda has been open about having no regrets regarding her Love Island USA experience, and is happy to be focused on reconnecting with her daughter going forward. As for fans, the day-to-day chaos of season 7 may be over, but viewers can now enjoy Love Island: Beyond the Villa, which features some of the most popular and beloved islanders from season 6.
