Every Upcoming Spider-Man Project, Ranked by Anticipation

Spider-Man always brings some of the best content to the superhero cinema space. Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man franchise helped kick off the popularity of superhero films in 2002, and, in general, he’s been a very important character for modern Hollywood in a corner that takes up most of the superhero landscape. Indeed, his popularity leaves people highly anticipating whatever project is coming next from Sony Pictures Entertainment and/or Marvel Studios.

The Friendly Neighborhood is huge in both live-action and animation, which means that fans are getting a lot of upcoming content in the coming year or so. While Sony and Marvel have made announcements for projects in the past, including the all-female-cast spin-off of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, not much is known about them, and they can’t really be considered “upcoming” just yet. However, there are four confirmed projects coming in the next two years that are incredibly exciting and have audiences ready for more Spider-Content.

‘Spider-Noir’ (2026)

Developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot

One of the standout favorite Spider-People in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was easily Nicolas Cage‘s Spider-Man Noir. He was incredibly funny and, as always, Cage gave a performance that made the character even better, especially since he was a supporting figure and could easily have been someone who wasn’t as compelling. Fun fact for those who don’t know, the Noir adaptation of the character has been around for quite some time and is widely beloved by Spider-Man fans.

Thus, no one was super surprised when Sony Pictures announced that they would be making a live-action television show about the character and bringing Cage to reprise his role. People loved him so much that not having him back, even if it’s most likely not a comedic interpretation of Spidey, would feel wrong. Debuting on MGM+ in 2026, Spider-Noir has people pretty interested in seeing what will come of this series. It’s taking some creative risks (like Spider-Noir being named Ben Reilly and not Peter Parker), but the recently released set images depict a costume and set design that are quite faithful to the source material. There’s considerable excitement and intrigue when it comes to Spider-Noir, but the fact that it’ll be on MGM+ makes it seem a tad small-time.

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2 (2026)

Created by Jeff Trammell

Despite some light controversy surrounding the main actor and discussion about animation quality, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was released to very decent reviews. It took people off guard at how much love and care was put into the first season. Everyone in the cast gave phenomenal performances, and it told a very compelling story that felt incredibly accurate to the heart and soul of the Spider-Man character. It also drew people in by the fact that it serves as an alternate universe to the MCU, meaning the audience still has a lot to recognize about this universe, despite the major changes made to Peter Parker’s (Hudson Thames) origin.

Apidey has a new story here, finding mentorship in Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), new friends in Nico Minoru (Grace Song) and Harry Osborn (Zeno Robinson), and the looming threat of the Scorpion (Jonathan Medina) and his gang taking over New York City. The series ends on a great note, with Peter finally settling into his role as Spider-Man. Furthermore, the creator, Jeff Trammell, shared a sneak peek that Spider-Gwen is coming in Season 2, meaning people are looking forward to a lot of his follow-up season.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ (2026)

Directed by Dustin Daniel Cretton

After the way Spider-Man: No Way Home ended, the name Spider-Man: Brand New Day for the fourth film felt very fitting. A whole new era of Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is on the way with an all-new director in Dustin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With rumors that Cretton is going to be taking the franchise farther away from the multiverse and keeping Spider-Man: Brand New Day more street-level, people are quite excited. The anticipation only grew with the announcement that Cretton was bringing the stunt coordinator from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Peng Zhang, to do stunts for the fourth Tom Holland entry. People already know that they’re in for quite a ride.

This creative team is beyond talented and is nothing but a promise that fans are going to be eating well with this film. Not to mention, the recent castings of Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas bring some exciting prospects for what Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be about. Not to forget, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will also premiere before Avengers: Doomsday, now that the release date for the latter has been pushed. This change could mean big things for Spider-Man’s involvement in the upcoming team-up movie, as people were theorizing he wouldn’t be in it due to Spider-Man: Brand New Day being sandwiched between Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse spawned one of the best franchises in superhero cinema. After the sequel’s release, which ended on a cliffhanger, people are already clamoring for the third installment, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. With how phenomenal the first two films are, it’s hard to imagine a world where this trilogy capper isn’t something beyond amazing. The footage of the movie shown off at CinemaCon 2025 only grew people’s anticipation, now that there’s actually something to see about the movie, not just talk from actors and executives. The cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewas so massive that it left so many questions and opportunities for what’s to come for Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld).

Miles has to deal with his questionable doppelganger donning the Prowler persona, and Gwen has set off on a journey with the band of misfits from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to find Miles and save the multiverse. These movies are adored by critics and audiences alike, which makes it seemingly impossible to believe that Beyond the Spider-Verse could be anything less than stellar. The artistry in each sequence and the performances of the whole cast of the last two movies have shown the amount of love put into the franchise, and there’s no reason the believe the same care won’t go into this long-awaited conclusion. If only 2027 could come sooner!
